Privacy Policy

unscriptED is a product of PrepPanel LLC. This policy explains how the platform handles data when teachers and students use it.

unscriptED does not collect, store, or sell any student data.

What the platform does

unscriptED is a classroom simulation platform. A teacher creates a live session, and students join using a room code. Students play historical roles and participate in structured debates, votes, and decisions. All session data exists only in the teacher's browser and is never saved to any server.

Teacher access requests

To access teacher tools, educators fill out a short form (hosted by Google Forms) that collects:

Name and email address
School or institution (optional)
An optional checkbox to receive updates about new simulations

This information is stored in Google's systems and is only used to provide access codes and, if opted in, send occasional updates. We do not sell or share this information with third parties. Teachers can request removal of their data at any time by emailing us.

What data is transmitted during sessions

During a live session, the following is transmitted between the teacher's browser and students' browsers through our server:

A user-entered display name (so the teacher can identify participants)
Role selections
In-game actions such as votes, proposals, and messages

This data passes through a Cloudflare Worker that acts as a real-time relay. The server routes messages between participants but does not log, store, or retain any of this data. All connections are encrypted in transit (TLS/HTTPS).

What we do NOT collect from students

No student accounts or sign-ups
No student email addresses, passwords, or personal information
No cookies, analytics, or tracking of any kind
No student data is stored on any server, ever

Data retention

For students: there is none. When a session ends, all data is gone. The server retains nothing. Session data in the teacher's browser is stored locally on their device using browser localStorage and can be cleared at any time.

For teachers: email addresses collected via the access form are retained until a teacher requests removal.

Third parties

Cloudflare - hosts and serves the application
Google Forms - processes teacher access requests

No data is shared with any other third party. We do not use advertising, analytics, or tracking services.

Teacher dashboard access

The teacher dashboard and related tools are intended exclusively for educators and school administrators. Access requires a passcode distributed only to verified educators through our access request form. By requesting and using a teacher access code, you confirm that you are an educator or school administrator using the platform for instructional purposes.

Students should only access the platform through room codes provided by their teacher. Unauthorized use of teacher tools may result in access being revoked.

Children's privacy

unscriptED is designed for use in teacher-supervised classroom settings. The platform does not collect any personal information from students, including children. Students participate using a room code provided by their teacher and are not required to create an account or provide any identifying information.

Changes to this policy

If we make changes to this policy, we will update this page with the new date.
